Last Friday evening our local Fire Station was having an open house. So after Sean got home from school we headed out to visit the Firefighters! It was really fun!
They gave everyone tours around the Fire Station! We saw what the Firefighters did when they weren't fighting fires!
We saw their
offices,
kitchen & eating areas,
the lounge/living room,
the "quiet room" (where people could go to study,
or have privacy if they are having family or company visit)
the sleeping areas,
the locker rooms (don't worry...they were empty),
the fireman's pole,
their equipment room
(where they stored all their jackets, pants, hats, boots, gloves, gear, etc.),
and of course last but not least the
FIRETRUCKS!!!!

Ian had so much fun asking what all the different parts were for on the truck! They also let the kids climb up into the back seating area and look around! Ian even got to try on an official Fireman's hat! He was super excited! Although it was REALLY HEAVY!
Thanks Firefighters for letting us visit you & for all you do to keep us safe!
